10. The eclectic residents make this area one of the most unique neighborhoods in Denver – I love walking down the street and running into all kinds of people, doing all sorts of things – the energy is great, and there is always someone new to talk to, learn from, or get to know!
9. Old meets new, in the best of ways. A lot of the homes in Berkeley are still original bungalows and ranch-style homes, built as early as the late 1800s – but now we are starting to see brand new structures and beautiful remodels sprouting up amongst the classics, and the balance that architects are achieving is truly an art to behold.
8. Speaking of art…Tennyson street is fast becoming one of Denver’s art centers, with galleries lining the streets and local restaurants and coffee shops allowing artists great exposure with rotating exhibits. Make sure to check out the First Friday art walk, it’s always a good time!
7. Speaking of restaurants…you could eat out every meal for a week and still have new places to try – from House restaurant for brunch, to Parisi’s for lunch and Patrick Carroll’s for dinner, then on to Tastes for a late night cocktail…Berkeley is becoming a destination for foodies…yum-o!
6. The Dog Park – located at the Northwest tip of Berkeley, this is one of the biggest off-leash areas in the Denver Metro, and no matter what time of day, you will always find a playmate for your pup in this four-legged hot-spot.
5. The Twin Lakes. Sure, there are lots of neighborhoods that have one lake…but Berkeley has TWO – and whether you want to do a little laid-back fishing, take a stroll, or train for your next race, the lakes are right up the street!
4. The neighborhood is constantly improving. Check out the plans for the new streetscapes… http://www.berkeleyregisneighbors.org/uploads/Tennyson_Streetscape_Design.pdf

2. Access to everything – hop on I-70 and hit the slopes for a hike or snowboarding in less than an hour…or take 38th East into Downtown, not to mention Highland Square, Sloan’s Lake, and LoHi just a few minutes away!

This urban cottage in the heart of Berkeley is a perfect example of why this is such a special place to live. Built in 1910, this home retains many of its orignal features, including great built-ins and a winding staircase, as well as a large lot and huge shady trees, but it has been upgraded in all of the right ways…an attic master bedroom, a beautiful cook’s kitchen, and 3 different patio areas create a wonderful space for relaxing and entertaining.
